Future of Perl programming language
The TIOBE Index was named python in 2018 as the programming language of the year. As for Perl, the case is different as the programming language was ranked position 19 by the TIOBE index. Perl is at its lowest point, and its future is not that promising.
Ranking for the first quarter of 2019, Perl was ranked at the 18th position out of 20 by the Red Monk Programming Language. Perl programming language is said to decline slowly and nearly being replaced by python.
Despite this, Perl is preferred by many and most likely not to be replaced entirely by python. Despite the slight similarities, the two are entirely different.
